Time to cuddle, laugh, and play!

I believe the most important memories are the ones we take for granted…cooking your favorite family meal, a so-called average day at the park, frolicking, and playing silly games.

It’s also the humdrum and messiness of family life that make up the memories you never want to let go of. In using these moments, I’m able to create beautiful, authentic, and memorable moments you will hold dear for a lifetime.

I'm a storytelling portrait photographer located in Loma Linda, California. Serving four Southern California areas: Inland Empire, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, and surrounding areas. I look forward to connecting with you!

“I can’t thank you enough for everything Alex! You don’t just take photos, you give life to every picture! I didn't just have an awesome photographer but I gained a friend in you.” - Jisselle S.

I'm Alex Slattery, a photographer and storyteller located in sunny Southern California. As a single mom, I know how hectic life gets trying to balance work and motherhood. Running a business, making deadlines and meeting my son's needs on top of taking care of a household can take a lot out of anyone. And if you're a mom too, you get it… Wait, I didn’t get to all the laundry… hmmm... I guess he’ll be wearing dirty pants. Oops… mom fail… But despite all the demands life serves up, having pictures of us laughing and enjoying each other and being in the moment make all the craziness worth it. Dirty pants and all, and hey, that’s what Photoshop is for!

Because those daily trips to the neighborhood park that he no longer cares to frolic in are plastered on my wall to remind me of who he was and who he will never be again. Isn’t that part of what life is about? It's cherishing and remembering those in-between moments that you can't get back. The only way is to pause those moments to contain them in a time capsule never to be forgotten—ever! My heart explodes with joy every time I see that toothless smile so prominently displayed on my wall - proof that motherhood is worth all the challenges!

Contact me below so you too can have stunning, beautiful, and meaningful memories of you and your family.

These sessions are designed to document the emotional moments between you and your favorite people. Storytelling sessions are a mix of intentional and spontaneous photographs. I’ll incorporate both a mix of portrait and documentary photography to capture what matters most to you. You’ll receive images of everyone together, the kiddos being silly with one another, and separate interactions between the members of the family. You will receive pictures looking your best and enjoying special moments.

After a phone consultation and finding out what is important for you to have captured, you will be sent a contract, invoice, questionnaire, and a detailed guide on how to prepare for your session.

Many! Because of the custom nature of photography and your specific desires, you will receive between 80-120 images to choose from for placing your order.

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND Alex Slattery Photography!  She did my husband's corporate photo and the choices were so impressive we decided to schedule a session with her for just the two of us.  So fun and easy!  She helped us plan everything according to our likes and needs.  The result was an awesome time doing the photos at a little park and our favorite place...the beach.  When the proofs were back, she came to our home and helped us choose the perfect shots and package.  A couple of weeks after that, she came back over with the finished (BEAUTIFUL) products.  Every time we walk into our home and see those happy pics, we smile and know our kids are probably doing the same when they're looking at their photo gifts. Thank you, Alex!" - Toni M.

Let's Connect

Alex was phenomenal!  I only get to spend summers with my now 13-year-old daughter. Alex found a beach for a father-daughter photo shoot.  She took the time to capture very special moments of my daughter and me spending a memorable afternoon at the beach and the artwork from that day fills a wall of my house.  Very natural shots and it was as if we were hanging out with a family friend.  I take comfort from those photos almost every morning.

- Paul S.

"When my first son was born, I took tons of photos of him, as new parents do, but I wanted some professional photos of him to hang on our wall. I hired a photographer to take these photos, but I wasn't very pleased with the results. I'd dressed my son in an adorable outfit and made the appointment for a time I thought he wouldn't be tired and fussy, but he started to cry during the shoot and the photographer, though friendly, seemed in a rush to finish, and the entire process was not enjoyable.

I didn't hire a professional photographer again until after my second son was born. A friend recommended Alex's services to me, so I gave her a call. I liked her approach even before meeting her. She told me what to do to prepare, not to worry if one or both of the kids were fussy, and that she wanted the shoot to be relaxed. She suggested we shoot in our home and backyard so that the boys felt comfortable in their own environment. She was so great with the kids - she took her time, encouraged me to interact with them, and it was overall a totally low-key, enjoyable experience.

My boys are now 8 and 10, and I've hired Alex to take family photos every year, as well as shoot some other special occasions, and I've given out her info to numerous people. When I see the photos Alex has taken of our family, I love that she's captured the boys' personalities, the joy and love in our family, and that we have beautiful images I will treasure for the rest of my life."
